Supervisor, Engineering II - Technical (3rd Shift)MAIN PURPOSEThis position is responsible for direct supervision of Senior Technicians in MEU and/or Production operations.
This position is responsible for the assessing the existing technical skills within the corresponding areas of operations and highlighting development and the training of personnel in Operations located at the Myerstown plant site.
In addition, the position provides technical and troubleshooting support to the building/department.
The incumbent will also be involved in the capital investment projects for new production equipment or renovations/upgrading of existing facilities or equipment.
In addition, incumbent has responsibility for reviewing and modifying Preventive Maintenance tasks on a regular basis, creating/reviewing/modifying maintenance (MEU) related SOP's, providing for continuous improvement to both equipment and processes, and ensuring a safe workplaceYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary responsibilities of this role, Supervisor, Engineering II - Technical (3rd Shift), are to:
Supervise, coordinate, direct, and evaluate the work of Senior Technicians in MEU and/or Production personnel as assigned Provide coaching, counseling and initiating corrective action when necessary Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies Provide on-the-job-training and identify external training required for subordinates Ensure SOP's for areas of responsibility are updated, accurate, and complete Plan jobs in advance for subordinates, ensuring materials or spare parts are purchased Foster and promote the team style approach to create an effective work environment Provide input to Maintenance Manager on staffing and budget requirements and work within budget constraints Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of subordinates and job activities, and suggest / implement new or improved work methods and practices Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner as per SOP's and properly documented in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Solicit, negotiate terms, administer and manage multiple, external maintenance contracts as needed Solicit bids from contractors at least every two years Coordinate and schedule work with contractors Ensure contractors are complying with all applicable safety and environmental regulations and company procedures and policies Approve contractor work for payment, ensuring notification to Accounts Payable department Ensure all work is properly documented in CMMS Maintain awareness of current technologies, work methods, and available products and services through sales presentations, trade magazines, and organizational affiliations Identify capital needs related to areas of responsibilities Provide justification when necessary Prepare or assist in the preparation of authorization requests Manage small-scale capital projects and assist with coordination or supervision of contractors on larger scale capital projects May perform other duties as assignedWHO YOU AREYour success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE (Leadership Integrity Flexibility Efficiency) values.

Bachelor's Degree OR if no degree, at least 4 years' experience working in an industrial/technical, manufacturing or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) environment which includes experience working with PLC's, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronics, HVAC systems, fabrication, plus 2 years of supervisory experience Process manufacturing and packaging equipment trouble shooting skills required Experience with equipment selection and vendor support required Knowledge of operating within budgetary constraints required Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of personnel (i.
e.
plant salaried and non-exempt production, site management, etc.
) in a clear and concise manner required Proven analytical and problem solving skills required Demonstrated ability to use appropriate communication / interpersonal skills to resolve problems and conflict in a positive manner & provide developmental opportunities to subordinates and provide constructive feedback in a timely fashion Willing to work extra or irregular hours requiredPreferred
Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering with at least 2 years direct leadership experience with technical support staff.
Technical Support Staff defined as personnel with experience in PLCs, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronics, HVAC, fabrication, and industrial maintenance Previous experience utilizing a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) preferredThis is a 3rd shift position with the hours of 11:
